Section 482 CrPC | Inadvertent Social Media Posts Require Trial for FIR Quashing; Mere Claim of Mistake Insufficient : CGHC
Chhattisgarh High Court rules that claims of inadvertent WhatsApp status uploads against a political figure do not justify quashing an FIR under Section 482 CrPC without trial. The court emphasized that prima facie offences under IPC and IT Act must be adjudicated on merits, not dismissed pre-trial based on evidentiary gaps.
