Bombay High Court holds that pensionary benefits, once earned through service, cannot be withheld due to post-retirement caste certificate invalidation. The Punjab & Haryana High Court ruled that retrospective dismissal of a retired government employee is impermissible under Rule 2.2(b) of the Punjab Civil Services Rules. The court held that only pensionary consequences, not dismissal, can be imposed post-retirement, even in cases of conviction, unless independent consideration of conduct justifies otherwise.
